London's First Ever Art + Climate Week Is Here

Art+Climate Week Unites London’s Galleries

For the first time, London’s top contemporary art galleries are collaborating for Art+Climate Week, an initiative spearheaded by the Gallery Climate Coalition (GCC). This exciting event coincides with COP30 in Brazil and aims to enhance climate action within the arts community. With a packed schedule, it promises to be an essential experience for art enthusiasts.

A Diverse Program for All

Spanning five days, Art+Climate Week features a vibrant lineup of more than 25 participants, including renowned institutions like Tate Modern, Tate Britain, Barbican Art Gallery, and Whitechapel Gallery. Best of all, all events are entirely free and open to the public, ensuring that there’s no pretension typical of the art world.

GCC’s Commitment to Sustainability

The Gallery Climate Coalition comprises over 2,000 arts organizations and individuals from over 60 countries, all dedicated to reducing the carbon footprint of the visual arts sector by 50% by 2030. This week-long initiative includes a variety of activities such as independent discussions, family workshops, guided tours, and engaging climate activations. Each exhibition presents diverse viewpoints that challenge our connection with nature and explore themes of power and social change.

A Call to Action

The initiative reflects a collective acknowledgment of the arts industry’s role in advocating for change and inspiring public engagement. Amidst insufficient global efforts and political resistance related to climate issues, this event aligns with the UN’s global climate summit, highlighting the urgent need for action.

Navigate the Events Digitally

Art+Climate Week showcases exhibitions throughout the city, with a digital platform provided by gowithYamo.
