Nike debuts its inaugural partnership with California’s Run Specialty Group Renegade, transforming the iconic Vaporfly 4 and Vomero Premium sneakers with a fresh perspective inspired by Mexican heritage and geography. This release isn’t just another product drop—it signifies Nike’s first collaboration with a Run Specialty Group, entities long celebrated for their expertise, curation, and pivotal role in nurturing authentic running communities.
Heritage in Every Detail
At the heart of the Nike x Renegade collection is the story of Renegade founder Victor Diaz, whose Mexican roots profoundly shape the collection’s narrative. Both shoe silhouettes are grounded in a deep, reddish-brown base reminiscent of desert landscapes, while vivid clay orange accents recall the sunbaked terrain of Diaz’s heritage. The use of this organic palette unites the Vaporfly 4 and Vomero Premium, with the signature orange emerging as a bold visual thread throughout the collection.
New Takes on Iconic Designs
The Vomero Premium features a striking “AIR” graphic that pays homage to Nike’s storied ’90s basketball aesthetics, now reinterpreted through Renegade’s lens. Meanwhile, the Vaporfly 4 commands attention with the word “Renegade” in unmistakable orange across the instep, capturing the collaborative spirit of the release. Woven throughout the designs is the mantra “Barrios Unidos” (“Neighborhoods United”), underscoring the collection’s core message of unity and community.
