ASICS Collaborates with Fidan Novruzova
ASICS has partnered with Moldovan designer Fidan Novruzova for its “Crafts for Mind” series, a project that invites a diverse group of designers to reinterpret its extensive sneaker line. This collaboration showcases Novruzova’s talent through a handcrafted version of the GEL-CUMULUS 16 sneaker, elevating the classic design into the realm of haute couture.
A Unique Interpretation
Novruzova’s distinctive approach is evident in her sculptural footwear and elegantly designed leather accessories. Her take on the GEL-CUMULUS 16 features two striking monochrome colorways: “Black” and “Cherry Red.” The designer’s signature style transforms the standard sneaker silhouette, incorporating an oversized square tongue adorned with a tassel detail that artfully conceals the laces.
Inspired by Tradition
Crafted from high-quality leather consistent with her own label, Novruzova’s design pays homage to traditional shoemaking techniques. The inspiration behind this unique aesthetic draws from classic loafers and brogues, showcasing her ability to blend contemporary fashion with timeless craftsmanship.
Fashion Week Debut
The sneakers made their debut during Novruzova’s Spring/Summer 2026 runway presentation at Paris Fashion Week. They were styled alongside structured jackets and tailored pants, further emphasizing the sophisticated nature of the collaboration.
Supporting a Cause
In line with ASICS’ ongoing commitment to social responsibility, a portion of the proceeds from this collaboration will support endometriosis research at the Fondation Pour la Recherche sur L’Endométriose.
